He is known for his mixtapes, which he began releasing in 2011; his compilation album Trilogy, consisting of remastered versions of his earlier mixtapes; and three studio albums: Kiss Land (2013), Beauty Behind The Madness (2015) and Starboy (2016). He is widely known for his hit songs, including "High For This", "What You Need", "Loft Music", "Earned It" in 2015, "The Hills", "Can't Feel My Face", "Call Out My Name", "Save your tears" etc The Weeknd's hit song "Blinding Lights" charted for 90 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and was crowned the greatest Billboard Hot 100 song of all time in Nov. 2021.
