John Stephens, better known as John Legend, was born on December 28, 1978, in Springfield, Ohio. A child prodigy and a music genius, Legend began singing at the age of 6. He attended the University of Pennsylvania where he directed a co-ed a cappella group.

John Legend is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who is best known for his albums ‘Once Again’ and ‘Darkness and Light.’ He was born in Springfield, Ohio in 1978. Legend started performing for his church choir when he was just 4 years old.He learned to play the piano at seven. During his time at college, he was the president and lead singer for a musical group called Counterparts. He released many studio albums, collaborating with Kanye West, Britney Spears, and Lauryn Hill. In 2015, he received an ‘Oscar’ for the song ‘Glory’ which was featured in the movie ‘Selma.’ He has won numerous other significant awards, including 10 Grammys and a Golden Globe award. He is also an actor and has acted in the movie ‘La La Land’ which became a huge hit and won six Oscars.
