Roald Dahl was a popular British author, born in 1916. He wrote a wide range of stories, including James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The BFG. He died in 1990.
Roald Dahl was an English author of children's novels and short stories. His books have sold more than 100 million copies and have been translated into more than 40 languages. He is the creator of numerous fictional characters, most notably Charlie Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, both of which were adapted into successful films. The Big Friendly Giant in The BFG (also known as The Big Friendly Giant), Fantastic Mr. Fox and Matilda were also adapted for film with Steven Spielberg providing Dahl's voice for the latter two characters. Dahl also wrote the screenplay for You Only Live Twice (1967), his only novel adapted for a Bond film.
