Dodie Smith
Dorothy Gladys Smith, more commonly known as Dodie Smith, was a British author who is most well known for her novels I Capture the Castle and The Hundred and One Dalmatians. She also wrote Dear Octopus and The Starlight Barking.
Dodie Smith (1896-1990) found success as a writer of children's books, and was later recognized as an important novelist. Her best known works include The Hundred and One Dalmatians (1956) and its sequel The Starlight Barking. I Capture the Castle (1948), an autobiographical novel now recognized as a literary classic, reflects her early years in the 1920s.
