Henry James
Many consider Henry James to be one of the most important authors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. James authored many novels, including "The Portrait of a Lady" and "The Wings of the Dove". He also wrote a number of critical works on topics such as drama and travel.
Henry James was an American novelist and critic who was born in New York City in 1843. He studied at the Universities of Harvard and Cambridge, where he learned to speak French fluently. James went back to the United States in 1867 and became a writer there. He wrote many novels, including "The Portrait of a Lady", "The Wings of the Dove", "Washington Square" and "What Maisie Knew". He also wrote short stories and plays, including "The Turn of the Screw". James lived most of his life in Europe, where he grew up. He died in 1916 in England at the age of 73.
