Helen Wills Moody, born Helen Newington Wills on October 6, 1905, was an American tennis player who dominated the sport during the 1920s and 1930s. She is considered one of the greatest female tennis players of all time.

Wills won a total of 31 Grand Slam titles, including 19 singles titles, 9 doubles titles, and 3 mixed doubles titles. She won her first Grand Slam singles title at the U.S. Championships (now the US Open) in 1923 and went on to win a remarkable eight Wimbledon singles titles and seven U.S. Championships singles titles.

Known for her powerful groundstrokes, exceptional footwork, and mental toughness, Wills was virtually unbeatable during her prime. She had a dominant rivalry with French tennis player Suzanne Lenglen, which captivated tennis fans of the era.
