Bahamas

The Bahamas is an archipelago consisting of more than 700 islands and cays, stretching for some 750 miles (1,200 km) from north to south. The island country is situated about 50 miles (80 km) east of Florida and the same distance northeast of Cuba. Its capital city is Nassau. Other major islands include Grand Bahama, Abaco, Eleuthera, and Exuma. The climate in The Bahamas is tropical, and the economy is heavily reliant on tourism. Thanks to its beautiful beaches and warm climate, The Bahamas is often considered a paradise. Visitors to The Bahamas can enjoy plenty of sunshine and relax on the sandy beaches, or they can explore the many sights and activities that the islands have to offer.
